
In 1995 the bottom fell out of the art market so artist Mark Millmore taught himself HTML and Photoshop and within six months was working freelance for Future Publishing creating magazine covers and writing articles.
By 1996 Mark had gained a reputation in the Dot Com business and was head hunted by various Dot com companies in the UK and USA. By 2000 he was global Art Director for Microgistix.inc managing artists in Minneapolis, Tokyo and London. He was responsible for developing the graphical elements of e-commerce web sites and software products for Warner Brothers, Lucas Arts, Epson, Hewlett Packard, and Canon. These included multilingual software titles such as all the Harry Potter Print studio series, Star Wars Attack of the Clones Print Studio, Scooby-Doo Print studio and many others.
During this time Mark was travelling back a forth to Egypt carrying out research for his private obsession to make detailed computer recreations of Egyptian temples.
In his spare time Mark created a successful web site for children and teenagers about ancient Egypt – www.discoveringegypt.comwhich gets between ten and fifteen thousand unique visitors per day from natural search alone.
In 2007 his first book, Imagining Egypt, was published by Black Dog & Leventhal Inc. www.imaginingegypt.com
He has just published Ancient Egyptian Anecdotes
www.egyptiananecdotes.co.uk which consists of ancient Egyptian Papyri translations, supported with background text and full colour illustrations.
His future projects include an Ipad version of Ancient Egyptian Anecdotes, the English Kings beginning with the Saxons and graphic novels base on ancient Egyptian folk tales.
